Dr. Laurent Labonté studied in the University of Limoges (FRANCE) where he received a Master's degree in "optical and high frequency telecommunication" (University of Limoges, France). He obtained the PhD degree in Physics in 2005 on both experimental and numerical study of microstructured fiber for non-linear optics and astronomy. From 2005 to 2006, he was an assistant professor. In 2006, he joined the group “Quantum Information with Light & Matter” of the Laboratory of condensed matter physics (LPMC), as an associate professor of the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis. His research activities focus on generating, distributing and manipulating quantum information at telecom wavelength.

M. Zahid Hasan is a Professor of Physics at Princeton University. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2002 from Stanford University, working at SLAC and Brookhaven National Laboratory. He is an expert in the physics of quantum matter, emergent phenomena in electron systems, and advanced spectroscopic high resolution imaging techniques. His research has focused on quantum Hall-like topological phases, exotic superconductors, quantum phase transitions, and topological quantum matter. He played a pioneering role in the experimental discoveries of bulk topological insulators, helical topological superconductors, Weyl fermion materials and related new forms of quantum matter. A highly-cited researcher world-wide, he has published more than 120 papers in many reputed journals.

Condensed Matter Physics

Prof. Yoshihisa Yamamoto is working at E.L. Ginzton Laboratory of Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA and National Institute of Informatics, Tokyo, Japan. His group is primarily concerned with studying quantum dynamics of spin and exciton in semiconductor nanoscale systems. His experimental project combines ultrafast optical spectroscopy with semiconductor microcavities with artificial atoms (quantum dots or impurities) at low temperatures and high magnetic fields.

Yamamoto's current research interests are in the areas of quantum information, quantum optics, and mesoscopic physics such as squeezed states, quantum nondemolition measurements, cavity quantum electrodynamics, quantum computers, and mesoscopic electron transport and tunneling.

O.Hirota has received his PhD at 1979 from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan). He is director of the Quantum ICT Research Institute of Tamagawa University, and one of pioneer of quantum information science. He has established in 1990 International Conference on Quantum Communication, Measurement and Computing (QCMC). Number of his published papers in particular on quantum state discrimination theory and entangled coherent state are more than 100.

Prof. Patrick Siarry was born on May 28, 1952, in Pertuis. His research area is relatively (since 1982) new “metaheuristic” optimization such as simulated annealing, which are indicated for the so-called problems of “hard optimization” because of their ability to avoid in principle, trapping in sub-optimal solutions. This topic is multidisciplinary in nature, both by the source of the methods studied (physics, biology, ethology). Much of his work is explicitly one or the other keywords – in particular, modeling, identification, learning rule bases (artificial intelligence), control, nondestructive testing and maintaining the biological and medical engineering.

V.V. Rumyantsev is Professor in Nanophysics Department at Donetsk National University (DonNU) and Head of Physics Technology Subdivision at A.A. Galkin Donetsk Institute for Physics and Engineering (DonPhTI). He received PhD in Physics (1988) from DonNU and Dr. Sci. in Solid State Physics (2007) from DonPhTI. He has published more than 200 scientific publications. Prof. Rumyantsev is Group Leader of International project in the framework of the European program FP7-PEOPLE-2013-IRSES (2013-2016).

Padmanaban Sanjeevikumar (M’12, SM’15) received B.E., M.Tech. (with distinction), and Ph.D degree in electrical engineering from University of Madras (India), Pondicherry University (India), and University of Bologna (Italy), in 2002, 2006, and 2012 respectively. He pursued his doctoral degree with full comprehensive grant successfully obtained from Ministry of University Research (MIUR), from the government of Italy (Jan. 2009 - Dec. 2011) by securing 120/130 with the merit of first rank among International Competition devoted for one foreign Ph.D scholarship position. After completing his Ph.D degree he worked as Associate Professor with VIT University from August 2012 to May 2013. Furthermore he joined as Faculty with National Institute of Technology, Pondicherry, from July 2013 to December 2013. He was invited as visiting researcher at Department of Electrical Engineering, Qatar University, Qatar from January 2014 to February 2014 funded by Qatar National Research Foundation (Government of Qatar). He continued his research activities with Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland from April 2014 to September 2014. Presently, from September 2014, he is Project Head in Research & Development and Consultant with Ohm Technologies, Chennai, India.He has received the Best Paper cum Most Excellence Research Paper Award of IET-SEISCON 2013. He was invited as honorary program committee/technical committee/steering committee member/chair for more than 400 plus various international, national conferences and includes IEEE.

Yukio Tomozawa obtained DSc in 1961 from Tokyo University. He was Assistant at Tokyo University (1956- ), and at Tokyo University of Education (1957-1959): Member at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, NJ (1964-1966). He was Assistant Professor (1966- ), Associate Professor (1968- ), Professor (1972- ) and Emeritus Professor (2003- ) at the University of Michigan, USA. Research Interest: Dr. Tomozawa found that the Schwarzschild metric does not fit the data of time delay experiment in the field of general relativity. He has introduced a physical metric which fits the data. It was constructed with the constraint that the speed of light on the spherical direction is unchanged from that in vacuum. This modification changes the way we understand the nature of gravity drastically. In particular, the nature of compact objects, neutron stars and black holes, is very different from that described by the Schwarzschild metric. It also explains the dark energy, supernova explosion and high energy cosmic ray emission from AGN (Active Galactic Nuclei), massive black holes.

Dr. Mary Mehrnoosh Eshaghian-Wilner has over 26 years of research experience in various areas within the field of Computer Engineering. Additionally, she has worked in the area of patent law for several years. She has published numerous scientific papers, including two books, and has handled the prosecution and infringement analysis of many complex U.S. and international patents. Dr. Eshaghian-Wilner currently is a Professor of Engineering Practice at the Electrical Engineering-Systems Department at the University of Southern California (USC), and since 2004 has been an Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Prior to joining UCLA, she was a tenured full Professor and Department Head at the Computer Engineering Department of Rochester Institute of Technology. Professor Eshaghian-Wilner is best known for her pioneering contributions to three areas of Optical Computing, Heterogeneous Computing, and Nanoscale Computing. In the area of Optical Computing, she produced one of the first theses that dealt with the computational aspects of optical interconnects for VLSI chips. The OMC model was developed by Professor Eshaghian-Wilner as part of her Ph.D. work, and since then, many architectures and algorithms have been designed by on that model.
