Biography
Prof Dr. Joachim Ankerhold got his PhD from University of Essen in the year 1994. He is currently working as a full time professor of Theoretical Physics at Institute for Complex Quantum Systems, University of Ulm since 2007. He is author to more than 80 articles over his tenure as a Physicist and has been awardees for many awards like Harris Distinguished Visiting Professorship, Dartmouth College, Heisenberg Professor of the German Science Foundation & Best PhD Thesis Award of the University of Essen. Apart from being a full time professor, he is also Vice President for Research, Ulm University, Co-Director of the Institute for Complex Quantum Systems, Acting Director of the Humboldt Centre for Philosophy and Fellow, Centre for Integrated Quantum Science & Technology.
Research Interest
His research interest lies in Condensed Matter Physics, Theoretical Physics & Quantum Physics. His current research area focuses on Charge transport in Nano systems, Quantum dynamics of superconducting circuits, Quantum bits in solid state systems and Quantum mechanical dissipation and decoherence.
